#FoodieFriday: Oatmilk Lattes

Happy Friday Everyone!

This week kicked off my first round of exams for the semester, which means I am allowed to consume EXTRA coffee this week, right? Needless to say, I am a coffee lover and love trying new coffee drink recipes!

Last summer, I studied abroad in Sweden and Copenhagen. During my trip, I encountered a new milk substitutes by Oatly: Oat Milk. It might sound a little weird, but I absolutely love it! And, the best part is, I recently found this same brand of milk at Safeway! I was ecstatic and bought a half gallon to try and mimic one of my favorite cups of coffee I enjoyed last June! Check it out below:

What You Need:

2 Shots of Expresso (I use Starbucks)

6 Ounces Oatly Oat Milk (Literally, the BEST!)

1 TBS of Vanilla Syrup

An Expresso Machine

What You Do:

Because I went home this past weekend, I was able to use my mom’s espresso machine to make this delicious drink! This machine is a game changer for your morning cup of joe. It literally makes the coffee taste ten times better than normal! I definitely had coffee withdrawals when drinking my Keurig coffee the following Monday!

To create an oat milk latte, make two shots of espresso using an espresso machine.

In the meantime, microwave the Oatly oat milk for about 30 seconds in the microwave. Then, using the machine, blow off some steam to froth the milk.

Pour your espresso shots into a bigger cup, add in a tablespoon of vanilla syrup, pour the milk while holding the foam back with a spoon, and finally, coat the top of the cup with the foam.

Enjoy your hug-in-a-mug!:)
